Our Mission

The Galion Port Authority was created by Galion City Council in May of 2019 through Ordinance 2019-30 and is authorized under Ohio law to construct facilities, issue bonds, make loans, and sell or buy real and personal property. Galion Port can also offer economic development financing products that government organizations cannot.

The mission of the Galion Port Authority is to enhance, foster, aid, provide or promote transportation, economic development, housing, recreation, education, governmental operations, culture and research in the City of Galion.  Galion Port is also tasked with creating and/or preserving jobs and employment opportunities and enhancing the availability of adequate housing.
